Why Should I Vote?
Today's blog is brought to you by one of our speakers, Bob Gillespie. Please take the time to read this very apt reminder of our civic and Christian duty to do our part at the polls.
Next week, we have an opportunity to make a difference in a small, but important way. This might be something that you don’t even think matters, but it does. Mike Huckabee says, “If you are frustrated with the direction of our nation, you can curse the darkness, or you can light a candle and bring the light.” Click HERE to watch a short informative video about why your vote matters.
Today’s anti-God worldview started with Satan in the Garden of Eden when he asked Eve, “Has God really said…” What makes it so prevalent today is the myth that science says you can’t believe the Bible. That myth has caused generation after generation to choose the god of “Science” above the God of Creation. This anti-God belief, called secular humanism, has saturated this nation. This state-sponsored religious belief has a goal of total control; no one can disagree with their plan to establish a utopian world without God. Most of our politicians are obsessed with this evil agenda, and they are aiming for the most vulnerable in society―our children.
We can't vote ourselves out of a spiritual problem, but we can push back against evil with our vote.
Fortunately, there are lesser authorities such as governors who have taken up the cause to stand in the gap between an evil acting federal government and the children. Let me spell out just some of the evil actions of our federal government:
- Some states have passed bills to protect the children who are still in the womb, yet the federal government wants to make the murder of children a protected civil right.
- Some states are protecting our children from the racist Marxist teaching of Critical Race Theory, yet the federal government wants to mandate it across the country.
- Florida passed a bill that says education should be about academics, not sexualizing our children, yet the federal government wants to mandate these perverted teachings across the nation.
- Some states have blocked the CDC mandate adding the Covid vaccine into the childhood vaccination schedule, yet the federal government wants all children injected with this experimental procedure, regardless of parent choice.
- Alabama passed a bill to protect our children from doctors who want to use sex change drugs and surgeries on small children, yet the federal government wants to protect and promote these horrific procedures.
This is an evil that we have never seen before. It is openly being forced upon us by federal decree. This is not a political problem; it is a moral and spiritual problem. It has become a matter of good versus evil and freedom versus tyranny.
We can't vote ourselves out of a spiritual problem, but we can push back against evil with our vote. We must realize there are secular humanists on both sides of the aisle. While political sides are blurred, the contrast between good versus evil has never been so clear.
A quote attributed to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, says it all:
“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
Voting is one way we can act; it is a way we can speak up and make our voices heard. Voting on the state and local level especially make a difference. (At the very least, we are counted as part of a demographic that can sway public opinion.)
As Mike Huckabee says, "Pray, find out about your candidates, and vote your values." According to myfaithvotes.org, 1 out of 3 Christians do not vote consistently... not necessary! You can find excellent resources about your local elections HERE.
Proverbs 29:2 KJV
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
