Meet Holly
At the age of 4 ½, Holly was led to the Lord by her 8-year-old sister—a moment as clear to her today as it was when it happened. From that day on, she never doubted her salvation, but constantly struggled with feelings of inadequacy and disappointing her Lord. She fell into the trap of seeing God only as a righteous judge and not a loving Lord of grace and mercy. It wasn’t until her mid-20s, after she was married and expecting her first child, that she was embraced by the deep, deep love of God and experienced the true definition of agape love personified in Christ. That is when John 8:32 came to life for her: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” And she has been pursuing truth ever since!
Holly’s passion for truth has provided opportunities for her to teach and lead in camp ministry, Sunday schools, ladies’ Bible studies, school settings (homeschool, Christian, charter, and public), conference speaking, teacher training, and curriculum writing (for ministries such as A Beka Book, Focus on the Family, and Answers in Genesis). Connecting with teenagers and Christian women about issues that are close to their hearts motivate her to research, understand, and respond to their needs from a biblical perspective. Her love of learning have led to degrees, in education, curriculum and instruction, and educational administration.
When Holly is not writing curriculum, proofreading/editing, working on the Reasons for Hope blog, or speaking, she and her husband, Paul, love traveling, hiking, or spending time with their three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren (so far!). They live in the beautiful state of Maine, and yes, eat lobster (properly pronounced “lobstah”) whenever they can!
