Faith Under Fire Conference

Christianity is under fire now more than at any time in the past!  Are you prepared to handle the attacks?This generation faces the greatest challenge to their faith of any generation before it. Never before has there been as much open hostility towards Christianity in this country.  The attack on our faith is coming from all fronts! Secular education, the entertainment industry, and culture in general have joined forces to launch an attack aimed at doing away with Christianity once and for all.  We have been seeing the devastating effects for some time now. Statistically, as high as 70% of Christian students who enter secular universities abandon their faith prior to graduation. Surveys of Middle School and High School students have shown us that seeds of doubts have been firmly planted in their minds and are carefully “watered” until graduation in almost every department (Science, History, English, etc…).  If we as Christians sit by and do nothing, we run the risk of losing the next generation all together.
The Faith Under Fire Conference is designed to give your church or group the tools it needs to withstand the attacks and engage in the biblical task of demolishing arguments and any idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. Our experience has been that students are often surprised when they hear good, solid, rational arguments in response to the doubts that they have.
Carl Kerby and Juan Valdes are God fearing men who have dedicated their lives in response to God’s calling to equip Christians with the tools they need to honor and serve God with excellence. Combined, Carl and Juan have over 50 years of ministry experience and it will show, as they bless your group with insightful, informative, interactive, and engaging presentations.

The Doubt Virus
Doubt is destroying young Christians when their faith is challenged and they are unprepared to respond. To further the dilemma, the answers provided by many range from irrelevant to heretical. Many of these young people find that nobody has a good answer and few Christians even care. What can we do to fight the spread of this virus?  This talk tackles both the problem and the solution to the Doubt Virus.
Human Evolution: Is that All You’ve Got?
One of the major tools used to get a generation to doubt is supposed “human evolution”.  If you speak with a typical young person in the public school they will tell you that everyone knows that humans evolved from some ape-like creature.  Well, what’s the truth about that claim?  Just because someone believes something doesn’t mean that it’s true.  In this talk Carl teaches how to critically evaluate some of the evidence used to support human evolution.  You will be surprised at how weak the actual evidence truly is!
Engaging Culture: What is Truth?
“This may be true for you but it’s not true for me!” That is the mantra of a society that has rejected the existence of absolute truth. This talk make the case for absolute truth and clears up the confusion between truth and opinion; between truth and personal preferences.  Once we understand that the Truth of God’s Word is not subjective—but clearly objective, the relativistic perspective on truth crumbles. This talk equips the listener to engage with culture and demolish the arguments of relativism.
Jesus on Genesis!
Many in the church today do not believe that the book of Genesis is important in the modern world.  We have been deceived into thinking that it is full of mistakes and errors. In this talk we address why we can trust not only the first book in the Bible, but the entire book as well. As a Christian instead of being concerned with what others think about something, we should be concerned with what our Savior, Jesus Christ, thinks.  We should be asking what did Jesus think about Genesis and then submit ourselves to what He taught.
Engaging Culture: Faith vs. Science
Are faith and science irreconcilable? Is it an either/or dilemma? If you listen to modern skeptics, science and faith have nothing in common.  Our culture promotes the idea that intelligent people pursue science while the ignorant pursue faith.  If you are a Christian, that places you squarely in the camp of the dumb, the uneducated, and the fanatical people that believe in the myths and fables of the Bible.   How do we respond to this attack? This talk engages the argument by clarifying the meaning of the words “Faith” and “Science.” In addition, the notion of irreconcilability is proven to be erroneous.  This talk equips your church or group with the tools to demolish this dangerous attack.
Jurassic Park or Jesus: Who Knows More?
Ask this question in the church today and almost every Christian will ‘say’ Jesus! The only problem is that when asked specific questions about dinosaurs, Christians will answer with a ‘Jurassic Park’ mentality! Using clips from the wildly popular ‘Jurassic Park’ movies, Carl shares contrasts what is being taught in the movies with what the Bible teaches and science really shows. This is a very powerful multi-media presentation that will help all to differentiate between ‘fact’ and ‘fiction’! This talk is a part of the ”Becoming Bold Conference – Live at the 3 Mile Project”.
Engaging Culture: Why Follow Jesus?
Why Jesus and not Mohammed, or Allah, or the Buddha, or any of the millions of Hindu deities? What makes Jesus worthy of being followed?  This talk addresses the primary reasons why following Jesus is the only alternative that makes sense.  We consider Jesus’ works, his claims, and his resurrection.  In addition, this talk provides a strong argument that proves the resurrection of Jesus using historical documents outside of the Bible, giving the listener the ammunition they need to respond to the claim that there is no evidence of the resurrection outside of the Bible.
Reasons for Hope in The Mosaic of Your Life!
This talk will challenge the body of Christ to become more active in sharing their “mosaic” with the world by looking at the “Who”, “What”, “How”, and “Why” questions surrounding a biblical worldview. Carl shares broken pieces of his “mosaic” throughout this talk to encourage Christians to share with others what God has done and is doing in their lives to share the love of Christ.
