Are we getting through?

Jeremiah 9:24 – But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me…
Our mission at rforh is to equip and encourage people in the Lord.  It is our desire, and our job, to help you know the Lord better — to understand His will and His ways as revealed in the Bible.  To that end, we address some difficult to understand subjects — from biblical creation and God’s plan of complete restoration of all things, to personal relationship with Christ and how to share your faith with the lost.
Recently we’ve posted some articles on some difficult subjects.  Check out Juan Valde’s, “Is the God of the Old Testament a Moral Monster?” and Shari Abbott’s “What is Soul Sleep?”  You’ll find interesting information that explains some of the wrong teachings and also what the Bible really does say on those two topics.  For a fun teaching about an historical event in the Bible that confuses many, watch Carl Kerby, Jr’s Did Jonah Really Get Swallowed By A Fish.  Another great teaching, this one is a short video that both children and adults will enjoy.
At rforh, we often wonder if we are reaching people with our teachings.  Well, the responses we receive at the ministry seem to confirm that God is blessing our work.
I just received this from a youth that heard me speak at a youth camp last summer:
Hi, I know that you don’t know me, but I was at Rush Camp over the summer and I turned my life around that week. I went from hating everything to loving everything.  Although I fell back into sin with some old friends, God has pulled me up and I’m Crazzzy about God now. LOL     I just wanted to say thank you!
And, the following response shows that people are listening and are implementing some of the teachings that we share:
Carl! I’m in law school at XXXXXX and I had a chance to use a “catch phrase” from one of your talks. I was called on to give an answer about bullying in k-12 schools and how it relates to a child’s first amendment rights. The first thing that popped into my head was how dumb it is to try and define bullying. So I said to my professor, “Let me ask you something, what does the color purple smell like..?” Haha! It was great!
He was dumbfounded. He said, “I was looking for an intelligent answer, not some smart a** response.” So I calmly told him, “How can you define bullying? If you just said what you said to me to that girl over there, as a response to one of her answers, she might have left crying. But I’m handling it just fine. It would be bullying to her, but I’m ok with this conversation. “You need to stop bullying us here.” He couldn’t believe it. 
Anyway, we had a ten minute conversation in class about bullying and he eventually agreed with my positions on it and how to try and fix some of the issues. That was last week. He must have talked about it to other faculty here. This week, every professor I have has somehow brought it up. One of them just said today, “Now Mr. Wilson, I don’t want to know what the color purple smells like, but could you tell me the provisions of the Federal Code, section…” It was great. Keep up your great talks, there will be repercussions you’ll never know about!
This last one, is from a young lady who attended a youth revival:
Hey I just wanted to let you know that ever since you had that first Q&A with our youth group this past week there’s been so many people talking about religion. It’s actually kind of crazy how God planned my history class to be learning about the Protestant Reformation the day after the last revival night. We spent most of the class period talking about religion and it ended up getting me into witnessing. I’ll be honest, I never actually witnessed other than talking about going to youth group the night before. Once I did some witnessing today it felt really good and thankfully God helped people to have open hearts and minds to what I had to say. I hope that things keep going like this and I get more comfortable with sharing my faith with people. Thanks for helping us start a spark this past week.
Back to Jeremiah 9:24 – But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me…
When we know and understand God better, we see how big He is and we love Him more.  That’s why we do what we do.  We want people to understand God and His Word …and to know Jesus better.
Responses like the three above are encouraging and they show that there is a hunger for information and biblical answers from both adults and youth.  When we engage with the youth, we see a great desire to learn — and we’re getting great questions from youth of all ages!
That leads me to what I plan to share next week — a Facebook conversation that I recently had with a young lady,  Her faith had been shaken, so she reached out to me  and we “talked” by texting back and forth.  She had a lot of questions, and I’m honored to have been able to share the answers found in God’s Word with her.  (Her name will remain anonymous.  Please remember that, if you dialogue with us, your privacy will be protected.)
