What if you died tonight? Are you ready for eternity?
Have you ever thought about where you will spend eternity? None is guaranteed another breath, please get ready!
People die everyday and many of those deaths are totally unexpected. Have you ever thought about what happens after that? If so, what conclusion did you reach? Would you go to heaven?
Are you ready for eternity?
The Bible tells us:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)
When you are judged, will you be found guilty or innocent? If you’ve ever told a lie, you’re a liar. If you’ve ever taken anything, you’re a thief, and if you’ve ever had a lustful or immoral thought, you’re an adulterer at heart. On judgment day, you’d be proclaimed guilty of violating God’s laws.
There is hope. God is merciful, and in His goodness and kindness He provided True Hope for you by sending His Son Jesus Christ to rescue you.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Jesus Christ is God. He came to earth, lived a sinless life, then took the sins of the world upon Himself and paid the penalty for them by dying on a cross. On the cross, judgment for sin was poured out upon Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price with His blood. He died and was buried, and on the third day He rose again, completely fulfilling prophecies made hundreds of years earlier.
Jesus offers you forgiveness for your sins, so you can have eternal life.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
If you don’t know Jesus Christ, repent of your sins today. Confess your sins and ask Jesus for forgiveness. Turn from your sin and turn to Jesus, and trust that He loves you and that He paid the penalty for your sins.
We are all only one heartbeat away from taking our last breath and stepping into eternity. Jesus promises that He has prepared a place for all who belong to Him.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Jesus said…
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:1-4,6
(The verses in the video are listed below.)
Take a few minutes and search your heart. Think about the God of the universe, Who loves you and came to earth to seek and save sinners. He lived the life we cannot live and He died the death that we should die; and He offers eternal life to all who come to Him in faith.
If your heart desires to know Him, pray something like this: Lord, I know that I have sinned and that I am not worthy of your forgiveness. But the Bible tells me that Jesus died to forgive my sins. And You promise that if I turn from my sin and turn to Jesus you will grant me forgiveness. I desire to know You, and I ask that you forgive my sins and grant me eternal life with Jesus. Please save me; and help me to live my life in a way that pleases You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
