“The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame, The Heels”
“Such is the life of Frank Stewart, who was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, June 9, 1935. He grew up in Maryland, and went to school at Marshall University in West Virginia before moving back home to work. A high-school chum of Stewart’s in Elkton, Maryland, was Luke Brown, who was wrestling in Canada as Man Mountain Campbell (and would later be half of the Kentuckians). When a knee injury ended Stewart’s football career, Brown convinced his friend to give it a try. Stewart made his debut in Georgia in 1962 as Lonnie Brown, and got beat up for months, slowly learning the trade, and putting weight and muscle onto his six-foot-four frame. The name Dutch Savage came along in Kansas City, and he worked as “Mr. X” in Tennessee as well.”

“One thing is for sure tonight at the Gregg County Fairgrounds Building, Chuck Karbo will not run out of the building unless he is able to drag 300-pound Big Boy Luke Brown behind him, because a six foot steel chain will be locked to each wrestler’s wrist.
Last Thursday night Chuck used a string from his tights to choke Danny Hodge down to the mat and pin him. Big Boy Luke Brown noticed this from standing at the concession stand and informed referee George Hultz of Karbo’s using the string. hultz reversed the decision and gave the fall to Danny Hodge. After this, Karbo attacked Luke from behind and rammed Big Boy’s head into the corner post opening up a small wound. After this, Big Boy pounded Karbo’s head to the post. Karbo kept trying to get out of the ring, however, the gigantic Brown kept on pounding Karbo until it took two other wrestlers to pull him off of Karbo. When Karbo got loose, he ran clear out of the building and did not return for the third fall with Hodge.
The way that local matchmaker Leonard Clay of White Oak sees it, Karbo asked for it when he cowardly attacked Brown from behind and to settle the argument, a six foot chain will bind the two together, but this may be one of the most rugged matched ever seen in the local ring.”
